Getting the most out of your Windows Taskbar (as a translator)
I greet you all, people who read this blog! Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
So, this is kind of part 2 of our last post. Taskbars and why we hate them? That's not the case, but we hate the preset configuration. Something like this:
Look at your taskbar now and think about the things that are there and the ones you really use. Done? Great! You probably don't use Cortana, the wheater widget, or the search bar. Why are they even there? I really don't know. But you can get rid of them, if you want to. Let's see!
I, and this is just me, I don't use the search bar, Cortana, the Desktop button, and the Notification Center. So my taskbar looks something like this:
I also don't use the Start button, but I couldn't get rid of it by easy means. So just left it there. But the question is: why is that something useful? That's because I am someone a little (or a lot) distracted. So, I needed to get rid of some visual garbage/polution in order to focus better. Can relate?
Let's see how we remove the functions we don't like/use.
Right-click on any empty space on the taskbar. A menu like this one should pop up.
And the thing I want to deactivate is the search bar. Click on "Search" and select "Hidden"! Like this:
Back to the first menu, unmark the "Show Task view button" option, and the others ones you don't want. You will end up with your desired setup. Mine goes like this:
In a future post I'll show you how to center your 10 most-used programs like that. But that's it for now.
Thanks for reading! Have a great day/night/week ahead!
